hand of hope

Glorify the meaning of this Thanksgiving by lending a hand to those in need.  With all the madness going on in the world use this special holiday to show you care.  Check out our Trash Lassie Turkey Day USA, HELPING HAND Dinner or Workie-For-Your-Turkey party as a way to celebrate the day, support our troops or help a much needed cause.  These themed party ideas are great ways to get family and friends in on the act.  Nothing says you can’t elevate this day of giving thanks, to a day that makes others THANKFUL for YOU!

This Thanksgiving THANK those who give the most to protect our freedoms.  Set an extra seat or two at your holiday table and invite the men and women who serve.  Ask around your town, check with your church, community center and local recruiting office.  Call the military base closest to you and ask if they know a soldier who might enjoy a holiday meal with a family grateful for their service.  Though customs, food and traditions vary from home to home, by including them in your Thanksgiving celebration everyone will benefit by joining military excellence with a family THANKFUL for their sacrifice.

helping hand

Whether or not you have family and friends hit by a recent disaster you can extend some much needed assistance.  It doesn’t matter how much you do, or give, as long as you participate in a small way, you are part of the recovery.  EVERYTHING is needed to help areas recover from life changing catastrophes.  Host your dinner as usual but ask everyone to bring a few cans of food to donate to a relief effort.  When you invite your guests ask if they could bring a donation that will go to the Red Cross.  No matter what you do your efforts will be greatly appreciated by those hurting from floods, hurricanes, tornados, earth quakes and wild fires.

workie for your turkey

Do you know someone in need of home improvement?  Planning to visit older family members who could use a helping hand around the house?  Have you recently moved and could use a pal to help out with painting or planting?  If so, plan a Thanksgiving WORKIE-FOR-YOUR-TURKEY party!  Organize your family and friends to do something that will benefit others…OR YOU!  Get everyone involved.  While some are working on walls, yards, or cleaning up, others are cooking up a scrumptious meal to reward everyone for a day spent in the deepest spirit of Thanksgiving.  When the days work is done and you sit down and enjoy a meal together, you will be truly grateful for what you have, what you are able to do for others, or what others have done for you!
